This news has come days after the Central Board of Film Certification referred the Akshay Kumar starrer film to the Revising Committee (RC) due to its content.
20 cuts and ‘Adults only’ certificate for OMG Oh My God 2.
In a big jolt for the makers of OMG 2 the Examining Committee (EC) of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is likely to give an adult certificate to the movie.
As per a report published in Bollywood Hungama, the movie is likely to receive 20 cuts and given ‘Adults only’ certificate. This suggestion is given by the CBFC’s Revising Committee. Earlier, the Examining Committee (EC) of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) referred the Akshay Kumar-starrer to the Revising Committee (RC) due to its content.
Today, a source close to the developments told Bollywood Hungama: “The makers are not comfortable with these cuts as they believe that it’ll affect the essence of the film. They are also not okay with an ‘A’ certificate. After all, they feel that the topic of sex education should be seen by people of all ages. Also, the first part, OMG: Oh My God (2012), is very popular with kids. To have an adult certificate for a film in a kid-friendly franchise just doesn’t feel right, in their opinion.”
With this fresh development, the business of the producers of OMG 2 is likely to be affected as only those aged above 18 years are going to be allowed at the theatres to watch the superstar’s movie.
In the movie, superstar Akshay Kumar portrays a chapter of the life of Lord Shiva.
Now only time will tell what the future of the film is like.
