Akshay Kumar will play a larger-than-life cop in Milan Luthria’s upcoming vigilante action film.
Every few years, Akshay Kumar leads movies in which he portrays a police officer. After the release of Sooryavanshi (2021), it appears that Akshay Kumar has added another film to his repertoire. As per the latest reports, the actor will be working on a Siddharth Anand-produced vigilante cop actioner with Milan Luthria. Almost 12 years after their last film together, Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbaai Dobaara (2013), Kumar is reuniting with Luthria for this part.
A source informed Mid Day that Bhooth Bangla (directed by Priyadarshan) began filming last week, and the actor fired the first mahurat shot. Rumour has it that Kumar will finish filming the horror comedy in March and then go on to Luthria's unnamed next project.

An insider also told the tabloid that Luthria and writer Rajat Arora are currently fine-tuning the screenplay, adding that as soon as the actor receives their final narration, the project will be officially underway. In this drama-action film, he portrays a character similar to his role in Rowdy Rathore (2012). In Luthria's vision, the actor portrays a charismatic figure as a masala entertainer. Meanwhile, the film delves into a social problem, and Kumar is so enamoured with the idea that he sets aside April and May to film it.
Luthria and his team will initiate the recce shortly after finishing the screenplay. One of the places in India will serve as the backdrop for a portion of the film, according to the insider.
After directing two blockbusters in Pathaan (2023) and Fighter Anand will collaborate with Kumar for the first time.
Kumar is currently working on several films, such as Sky Force Shankara, Jolly LLB 3, Housefull 5, and Welcome to the Jungle, among others. A few films have announced their release dates, marking another busy year for the actor.
