Akshay Kumar has delayed the release of his upcoming film OMG 2’s trailer. The actor revealed so in an Instagram post. He did it to pay tribute to late art director, Nitin Desai.

Akshay started his post writing, “Unbelievably sad to know about the demise of Nitin Desai. He was a stalwart in production design and such a big part of our cinema fraternity. He worked on so many of my films… this is a huge loss.”

He further revealed when the trailer will really release. The clip will now be release on July 3, 2023 at 11 am IST.

The actor continued his post writing, “Out of respect, we are not releasing the OMG 2 trailer today. Will launch it tomorrow at 11 am. Om Shanti.”

On Wednesday morning, well-known art director Nitin Desai died by suicide. He reportedly died by hanging himself at his own ND Studios in the suburb of Karjat. Nitin passed away a week before his 58th birthday, which is on August 9. It's unclear what led him to take his own life.

In terms of art direction, Nitin won four National Awards. To name just a few, he worked on the production design of the sumptuous sets for the films by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ashutosh Gowariker, namely Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Jodha Akbar, Lagaan, and Bajirao Mastani. In the course of his nearly two-decade-long career, Nitin collaborated with many filmmakers, which also included Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani, among others.
