The OTT giant Amazon Prime Video launched the trailer for its upcoming original series Akkad Bakkad Rafu Chakkar. The crime-drama, marking the last directorial venture of the late Raj Kaushal, is slated to be released on November 3, 2021, in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
The 10-part series follows two friends who decide to run a fake bank scam. The two-minute long trailer gives a sneak peek of the cunning operation planned by them. The mysterious background score adds flavours of curiosity and makes the series promising. It features actors like Vicky Arora, Anuj Rampal, Shishir Sharma, Swati Semwal, Sreya Muthukumar and Alisha Chopra.
The gripping storyline penned by Aman Khan is reportedly inspired from a real-life scam. The two friends, driven by their struggles in life, decide to open India’s first fake bank, which adds twists and turns to the story.
Late director Raj Kaushal is known for his movies like Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi (1999), Shaadi Ka Laddoo (2004), and Anthony Kaun Hai? (2006). He passed away in June 2021 after suffering from a cardiac arrest. In a statement to the press, co-producer Mandira Bedi talked about Raj’s passion and interest towards the series. She also mourned for the loss and shared her unhappiness about him not being around to witness the release.

Further talking about the series, the Prime Video content licensing head Manish Menghani said they aim to offer more relatable characters who can resonate with audiences. Akkad Bakkad Rafu Chakkar will contain the mixed tinge of drama, romance, and thriller in an appealing narrative style. He also mentioned about the team’s excitement to partner with Refuel Productions and considers it a privilege to be able to showcase Raj Kaushal’s series.
