The Malayalam actress recently turned playback singer for a Tamil song titled Kim Kim
We all know that Manju Warrier is a multi-faceted personality. The actress is a well known dancer and singer. And now she has sung her first ever Tamil song, titled Kim Kim for the film, Centimeter. The song was released by ace director AR Murugadoss. Taking to her social media handle, Manju Warrier thanked the director and wrote, "Thank you AR Murugadoss Sir for releasing this song from #Centimeter ! ❤️ (sic)."
Centimeter is a bilingual film helmed by cinematographer-turned-director Santosh Sivan. The film is titled ‘Jack N Jill’ in Malayalam. The song Kim Kim is inspired by an old folk song Kantha Thookunnu Thoomanam. Ram Surendar has composed the music and the lyrics for the Tamil version are penned by Lalithanand. The lyrics for the Malayalam version are by BK Harinarayanan. The Malayalam song is already doing the rounds on the internet and now the Tamil version, is gradually gaining popularity, too.
The star cast for the film includes Manju Warrier, Yogi Babu, Kalidas Jayaram, Nedumudu Venu, Aju Varghese, Indrans, Shaylee Krishen, Basil Joseph, among others. The film is all set to hit screens on May 20.
In the meantime, Manju Warrier is working on Ajith's upcoming film, tentatively referred to as AK61. While Ajith is shooting for his portions, Manju Warrier is expected to join the sets soon. The actress had confirmed her part in the film at an event. Though she remained tight-lipped about the other details of the film, she stated that she had signed the project as she liked the script. Meanwhile, the buzz is that the team had initially approached Tabu, but later, brought in Manju Warrier for the character.
Manju Warrier made her Tamil debut with Vetri Maaran's Asuran opposite Dhanush. The film went on to become one of the most talked about films and won accolades and awards for its power-packed portrayal of the caste system.
