It looks like the shoot for Ajith's upcoming film, tentatively referred to as AK61, directed by H Vinoth, is going on in full swing in Hyderabad. Talking to an online portal, the film's producer Boney Kapoor revealed that around 35 days of shoot have already been completed and that the film has planned as a Diwali release. The shoot is likely to be wrapped up by July.

AK61 has Manju Warrier playing the leading lady. Ajith is already busy shooting for his portions and Manju Warrier is expected to join the sets soon. The actress had confirmed her part in the film at an event. Though she remained tight-lipped about the other details of the film, she stated that she had signed the project as she liked the script. Meanwhile, the buzz is that the team had initially approached Tabu, but later, brought in Manju Warrier for the character.

Ajith will be seen in a dual role in the film, which is billed as a heist thriller. The actor had earlier portrayed dual characters in films like Vaali and Villain and his characters were well received. He had also been part of money heist films like Mankatha. Ajith has lost oodles of weight for his role and a fitter version of the actor has got people, especially his fans going ga-ga over his new look. The recent additions to the star cast are Samuthirakani, Veera and John Kokken.

Interestingly, this will be Ajith's third consecutive movie with director H Vinoth and producer Boney Kapoor. He had earlier teamed up with the duo for Nerkonda Paarvai, which was a remake of the Hindi film and Valimai, an action entertainer. While the former was well appreciated by the critics and audience, Valimai received mixed reviews, but turned out to be a success at the box office.
