In 2023, Tovino delivered outstanding performances in different films, with Adrishya Jalakangal topping the charts for its intriguing theme.

1. Ajayante Randam Moshanam

The Malayalam industry is set to deliver a handful of regal period dramas and Tovino’s Ajayante Randam Moshanam is definitely on the top of the list. The high-budget period drama, which is set to be a multilingual project, is helmed by Jithin Laal. The movie revolves around Maniyan, Kunjikelu and Ajayan, all of whom are reportedly trying to protect the most important treasure of the land. Interestingly, Tovino will be seen in a triple role for the first time in his career in the period drama. The film also stars Surabhi Lakshmi, Kriti Shetty and Aishwarya Rajesh as the female leads. The makers are eyeing a mid-2024 release.

2. Anweshippin Kandethum

Tovino has never failed to impress cinephiles with his crime thriller movies, and Darwin Kuriakose directed Anweshippin Kandethum is expected to be an intriguing watch! The upcoming investigative film is based on two important crimes and the subsequent investigations that had a huge impact in Kerala. In the film, these probes are led by Tovino’s character, a dedicated cop. The movie is set to release on February 9.

3. Nadikar Thilakam

This Tovino Thomas and Soubin Shahir starrer marks the first collaboration between the two Mollywood stars. Helmed by Lal Jr, Nadikar Thilakam revolves around Tovino’s character, David Padikkal, who is a superstar and has been dominating the film industry for eight years. The film depicts the unforeseen events that take place in David’s career and his attempts to overcome them.

4. Identity

Helmed by director duo Akhil Paul and Anas Khan, Identity is touted to be an action thriller. The movie’s stellar cast includes Tovino, Trisha Krishnan, Mandira Bedi and Vinay Rai. Recently Tovino and Trisha shot high-octane action sequences, and the glimpses are making fans more intrigued about the upcoming thriller.

5. L2: Empuraan

Mohanlal’s much-awaited sequel to Lucifer, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, is everything Malayalis are eagerly awaiting for in 2024. Tovino, who played Jathin Ramdas in the first film, will be reprising his role in the sequel as well. L2: Empuraan will delve deeper into who Stephen Nedumpilly (Mohanlal) is and will narrate the transformation that led him to become Khureshi Ab’Raam - the underworld leader of an expansive international crime organisation.
