Ajay Devgn was seen in an extended cameo in S.S. Rajamouli’s latest pan-Indian blockbuster, RRR.
Ajay Devgn played a very important part in S.S. Rajamouli’s latest pan-Indian sensation, RRR. The actor has now commented about filmmakers from the north not attempting pan-Indian projects.
Talking at the second trailer launch of Runway 34, Ajay Devgn was asked why Southern audiences are still not accepting films from the North, to which the filmmaker said that is not the case.
“It’s not that films from here (north) are not going there (to the south). In my opinion, nobody has attempted to release a film from the north down south on a big scale.” he said.
He added that it will definitely work if someone tried in the future and that while Hindi movies still work in the South, pan-Indian movies from the South take actors from the North and they plan the script accordingly so that it works pan India.
Pan-Indian movies from the South such as Baahubali, Pushpa: The Rise, and RRR have made a big impact in the North. The Hindi version of RRR has reportedly crossed Rs. 200 crore in the box office.
RRR, which stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead, also features an extended cameo by Alia Bhatt. The movie is currently available in theatres around the world.
Ajay Devgn is currently awaiting the release of Runway 34, which is also directed by him. The movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Rakul Preet Singh and Angira Dhar. The movie is based on real incidents and is scheduled to hit theatres on April 29.
