Just days ahead of the OTT release of Maaveeran, Rajinikanth has overwhelmed Sivakarthikeyan with his heartfelt praise.
Actor-producer Sivakarthikeyan on Wednesday tweeted a video message to his followers expressing his excitement after receiving a phone call from Superstar Rajinikanth. Sivakarthikeyan, who is shooting in Kashmir, was overjoyed when Rajinikanth phoned him to heap praises on his performance in his latest movie Maaveeran .
Written and directed by Madonne Ashwin, Maaveeran is a superhero-esque movie which follows the trials and tribulations of Sivakarthikeyan's Sathya, a comic book artist. The movie recently completed 25 days at the box office, emerging as one of the biggest hits in Sivakarthikeyan's career.

While thanking all the movie-goers for making Maaveeran such a big hit, Sivakarthikeyan also recounted his phone conversation with Rajinikanth. " He (Rajinikanth) appreciated me and the entire team. He has Jailer release and other shooting commitments, and still, he took a break from his busy schedule and watched Maaveeran. Thalaivaa you are always great!," Sivakarthikeyan said.
Sivakarthikeyan, who is one of the die-hard fans of Rajinikanth in Tamil cinema, also shared the details of the conversation with the Superstar. "He told me, 'Siva I completely enjoyed it. It was grand. You had given a superb performance. And he asked me, 'You keep selecting different types of stories, no? I had goosebumps. Thank you so much, Thalaivaa. I'm your biggest fan. I will say this always and everywhere. It's a lifetime moment for me to get a call from you," he added.
Sivakarthikeyan also gave his best wishes to Rajinikanth's Jailer, which is due in cinemas on August 10 . He wished the movie to become a "mega-blockbuster" and requested "Rajinikanth to keep entertaining his fans."
Director Nelson, a close friend of Sivakarthikeyan, has written and directed Jailer. Bankrolled by Sun Pictures, it's one of the most-awaited movies of the year. Besides Rajinikanth, Jailer also stars Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, Redin Kingsley, Vinayakan and Jaffer Sadiq.
Meanwhile, Maaveeran is set to make its OTT debut this week.
