Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment announced their forthcoming film, Agni on International Firefighters Day, May 4. Since then, the film has been garnering excitement. On November 14, the makers revealed that the film will be released directly on an OTT platform on December 6. The cast features Pratik Gandhi, Divyenndu, Jitendra Joshi, Sai Tamhankar, Saiyami Kher, Udit Arora, and Kabir Shah. Today, November 21, the trailer of Agni was released and at the trailer launch event, Farhan gave valuable insights about the film.
At the trailer launch, Faran Akhtar shared details about his upcoming film Agni. He said that it is not just an action movie but more than that.
He added, "The most significant thing about the film is this is not just an action movie. The beating heart in this is the drama of the film. We know there is this bravery, courage, sacrifice but there is also bravery and courage and sacrifice shown at home by the family and the families of the firefighters involved every single time they are called."
The trailer of Agni shows Vithal (Pratik Gandhi) and his brother-in-law, Samit (Divyenndu), a hotshot police officer, joining forces to unravel the mystery behind the fires in the city. As they fight against their own odds and against time, they must reconcile personal conflicts to unravel the case and save Mumbai from impending disaster.
Directed by Rahul Dholakia, Agni will follow the lives of firefighters. As per an earlier Mid-Day report, the film was shot across Mumbai and Delhi.
Director Rahul Dholakia said, “With Agni, I am thrilled to bring a story to life that celebrates the bravery of firefighters and explores their emotional journeys. Firefighters are real-life heroes, facing countless risks and challenges. This film is a tribute to their sacrifice, loyalty, and resilience.”
On the other hand, Pratik Gandhi said that Agni is not just a film. As per him, the film is a tribute to the courage of firefighters - the unsung heroes of our society.
Meanwhile, Agni will land on Amazon Prime Video on December 6.
