Kalyana Krishnan has directed the movie which will be released on March 10
Jayam Ravi in Agilan
Fans of Jayam Ravi, who have been eagerly awaiting an update on the star's Agilan, were elated when makers announced a few days ago that the movie will hit the screens on March 10. The film, touted as an action drama, was supposed to be released on September 15.
However, the team decided to postpone their plans owing to reasons best known to them. Kalyana Krishnan has helmed the project which stars Priya Bhavani Shankar, Tanya Ravichandran and Hareesh Peradi among others essaying crucial characters in it.
Vivek Anand and N Ganesh Kumar have handled cinematography and editing respectively for the movie which has Vijay Murgan handling its production design. Eswar Babu and Sherif have jointly choreographed dance sequences for the film while Miracle Michael has helmed its stunt scenes.
The project marks the second collaboration of Ravi and Kalyan Krishnan after Boologam which was released in 2015. Agilan revolves around a cold-blooded henchman who controls a seaport. How he takes on a few powerful people after a series of unexpected incidents that happen in the port forms the rest of the story.
We have learnt that Zee5 has bagged the movie's post theatrical digital rights. The film is expected to drop on the platform in the first week of April. An official announcement on the same is expected to be made anytime soon.
Ravi is likely to have around three releases this year. The much-anticipated Ponniyin Selvan 2 is hitting the screens on April 28. Either of his films with Rajesh (JR 30) or Antony Bhagyaraj (Siren) is expected to join Agilan and Ponniyin Selvan 2 later this year.
