Gautham Vasudev Menon has just wrapped up his portions of Vijay’s Leo
Tamil director-actor Gautham Vasudev Menon, who has just wrapped up his portions in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Thalapathy Vijay-starrer Leo, will next be seen in a ‘mass’ thriller starring Mammootty.
The upcoming movie, which will be helmed by debutant Deeno Dennis, has a travel involved and is mounted on a big scale with Kochi and Bengaluru being its main locations.
A source from the team confirmed to OTTplay that the movie is set to go on floors in April. “The casting process is currently underway. Gautham Vasudev Menon and Shine Tom Chacko will be playing pivotal roles in the movie,” said the source, from the film’s production team.
In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Deeno, who has also scripted the movie, said, “I have been working on the script of this film for the past three years. I felt Mammukka is the most apt for this movie. When I got a chance to pitch him the idea, I went to him with the complete scene order. He was excited about it as soon as he heard it.”
Nimish Ravi, who has cranked the camera for Dulquer Salmaan’s Kurup and King of Kotha, will also be the cinematographer of the yet-to-be-titled movie that will be bankrolled by Theatre of Dreams.
Mammootty, meanwhile, has two big releases in April. He will be kicking off the festive month of Vishu and Eid with Jeo Baby’s Kaathal – The Core as well as Surendar Reddy’s Agent. While the former is a Malayalam family drama that also marks Jyothika’s comeback Malayalam film after 13 years, Agent is an action-thriller that also has Akhil Akkineni in the lead. The Telugu film has Mammootty essaying the role of a RAW chief who is on the hunt for a rogue agent.
Meanwhile, the megastar has currently wrapped up the Mumbai schedule of his latest film Kannur Squad, which will once again see him playing a police officer.
