Debates regarding The Kerala Story are still on. Another controversy took place regarding the film The Diary of West Bengal. Its trailer was released recently, which sparked controversy. The state police sent a legal notice to the film's director, Sanoj Mishra.

Sanoj Mishra is also the writer of the film. Amherst Street Police Station sent him a notice. cases under IPC sections 120B/153A/501/504/505/295A were filed against the makers.

Sanoj Mishra is ordered to appear before the police station's Additional OC Subrata Kar at noon on May 30.

According to the complaints, the film is spreading lies and misinformation as is apparent from the trailer. The film’s bias against the minority community is also evident in the trailer. It attacked the current government and the chief minister and held several communities responsible for the violence.
