The dynamic duo of Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor are set to star in Karan Johar's upcoming romantic comedy, which will be released digitally under the Dharmatics label. Khushi is currently riding high on the success of her recently released debut film, The Archies, also starring Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, Dot, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja and Yuvraj Menda. She is now all set for her next project.

The movie will be directed by Shauna Gautam, who previously worked with Karan Johar as an associate director on 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' and as Rajkumar Hirani's assistant director on 'Sanju.'

Sources close to the project revealed to Pinkvilla that Karan Johar intends to star Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor in a full-fledged romantic comedy. His digital arm, Dharmatics, is slated to produce it as a direct-to-digital effort. The film will go into production in 2024. According to a source familiar with the situation, "The makers are in talks with a leading OTT player for streaming rights."

Although the movie does not yet have a finalised title, the creative minds discussing the project are coming up with a tonne of interesting and unique ideas. The project, which has been called a "classic romantic comedy," seeks to capture the spirit of the genre for which Hindi cinema is known.

According to Karan and his team, the narrative palette works better on OTT than it does on the big screen. The source continued, "It's planned and will be executed as an OTT original." At this point in the pre-production phase of the movie, the makers are trying to assemble a reputable ensemble cast.

Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor's projects

After Sarzameen and The Archies, respectively, this would be Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor's second movie as actors. In addition, Khushi is slated to appear alongside Aamir Khan's son Junaid Khan in the Tamil film 'Love Today' remake.
