Filmmaker SS Rajamouli is making the most of his recent visit to Japan. From meeting fans to taking masterclasses on the creative process behind Japanese anime, he appears to be absorbing all the best that Japan has to offer.

Rajamouli shared a picture of himself with two experts in visual effects and anime, expressing his joy at having learned something new. "I was always curious about the process and making of fantastic Japanese anime. Thank you, Rui Kuroki-san and Kazuto Nakazawa-san, for the wonderful time. Thoroughly enjoyed our creative discussions. Looking forward…," wrote Rajamouli.

Anime masterclasses and earthquake encounters

Rui Kuroki-san is a visual effects specialist who has worked on many blockbuster series and movies, including Quentin Tarantino's iconic Kill Bill: Volume 1. Kazuto Nakazawa-san, known in the industry as Takeshi Tsuji, is a Japanese character designer who has also directed several anime series.

Rajamouli's tweet, sharing a moment of camaraderie with his counterparts in Japan, comes just hours after the country was jolted by a massive earthquake. Around 7 am in India, Japan was struck by a magnitude 5.2 earthquake.

Rajamouli and his family experienced the earthquake; however, no injuries or serious property damage have been reported so far.

Film producer SS Karthikeya, Rajamouli's son, is also travelling in Japan with his father. He shared his harrowing experience and expressed surprise when the Japanese seemingly made little fuss about the earthquake. "Felt a freaking earthquake in Japan just now!!! Was on the 28th floor, and slowly the ground started to move. It took us a while to realize it was an earthquake. I was just about to panic, but all the Japanese around did not budge, as if it just started to rain!!," he posted on his social media.

Rajamouli and his family flew to Japan recently to take part in the special screening of RRR.
