After securing bail, Latha Rajinikanth speaks out against cheating allegations - 'No warrant has been issued against me'

After securing bail, Latha Rajinikanth slammed certain media reports circulating false information in connection with a cheating case against her.

The sight of Latha Rajinikanth, the wife of Superstar Rajinikanth, entering a Bengaluru court with her face covered by a shawl has stirred emotions online. Latha appeared in connection with a case involving a bad debt, sparking speculations about a potential arrest warrant if she failed to attend court. After securing bail from the Bengaluru Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court on Tuesday, Latha addressed the media about the case, expressing her dismay over unverified and false information circulating in certain media reports.

"If I were an ordinary citizen, this would not get attention. You write because it involves a celebrity and makes for sensational news. The certain words you use cause us a lot of pain," Latha told the media.

In 2014, Latha faced legal issues related to the movie Kochadaiiyaan, centring around a financial dispute with Ad Bureau Advertising Pvt. Ltd. The company claimed that Media One, one of the movie's producers, borrowed Rs 10 crore, with Latha acting as the guarantor. However, the complainant alleged that the company still owed over Rs 6 crore.

During the press conference, Latha asserted that Media One had settled the money, and the complainant was manipulating the agreement to extort more money from her. "I have been falsely implicated in a fictitious case filed by the complainant to harass and humiliate and arm-twist me. No amount is due to them from me. I am a third party unconnected to the transaction between them and Media One. The Honourable Supreme Court has exempted my personal appearance. And they have permitted me to file a discharge application. No warrant has been issued against me," she clarified.

While stating that her appearance before the trial court was not necessary, Latha emphasized that "out of respect for the law and the court," she personally marked her presence and "complied with the formalities required for the law."

Latha alleged a personal vendetta against her family and stated, "Now, I should be filing a defamation case against them."
