After Netflix’s Pitta Kathalu, Shruti Haasan to star in Amazon Prime's web series

The actress in a recent interview revealed that she is currently working on a web show for Amazon Prime,

According to latest reports, Shruti Haasan is part of an untitled web series to stream on Amazon Prime Video. The actress is currently a part of the Prabhas starrer Salaar.

Shruti was last seen in Vakeel Saab, starring Pawan Kalyan. In this remake of the Hindi film Pink, Shruti plays advocate Satyadev’s wife in the flashback. Her OTT debut was with the Telugu anthology movie Pitta Kathalu that streamed on Netflix. She starred in the Nag Ashwin directed segment titled xLife alongside Sanjith Hegde.

Not much is known about the Amazon Prime series that she is working on. According to rumours, the series will also star Arjan Bajwa and veteran actor Mithun Chakraborthy. The only confirmed fact about the series is that it will be based on Ravi Subramanian’s novel ‘The Bestseller She Wrote’.

The story is about a successful businessman with a happy marriage falling for a manipulative yet devilishly charming girl who misuses his trust to get to the top. The book is one of Subramanian’s bestsellers and the writer has intentionally strayed from his usual genre of thriller and indulged in romance for the first time.

Shruti Haasan is also waiting for the theatrical release of Laabam, in which she is paired opposite Vijay Sethupathi. The movie was shot last year but the release got rescheduled several times due to the pandemic.
