After Mohanlal, it's Basil Joseph for Jeethu Joseph?

Jeethu Joseph and Basil Joseph are two filmmakers who are popular for their commercially successful Malayalam films. While Jeethu is known for thriller films like Drishyam, Basil is known for his on-screen performances and for directing the hit film Minnal Murali. The latest is that both filmmakers are getting together for a new project. According to reports, Jeethu will direct Basil after he completes Neru, which has Mohanlal in the lead. The film is expected to go on floors in November.

Jeethu recently announced his second Bollywood venture, which is being bankrolled by Junglee Pictures and Cloud 9 Pictures. The Drishyam director's first Bollywood film was the 2019 film The Body. Starring Emraan Hashmi and Sobhita Dhulipala, the film was a remake of the Spanish film El Cuerpo. Jeethu will start working on his latest Bollywood film, which is touted to be a thriller, after he finishes shooting for his film with Basil.

Jeethu is currently busy with the shoot of the courtroom drama Neru, which has Mohanlal and Priyamani in lead roles. The film is scripted by the actor-lawyer Santhi Mayadevi, who is known for her performance in Drishyam 2. Jagadish and Anaswara Rajan are also part of the cast of Neru.

Ram, an action thriller helmed by Jeethu that also stars Mohanlal, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Trisha Krishnan, has been facing delays right from the start of its shoot, which was during the pandemic. The film is yet to complete the shoot in foreign countries, and Jeethu will be looking to complete the unfinished portions before he starts his movie with Basil.

Meanwhile, Basil will be next seen in Tovino Thomas' period action film Ajayante Randam Moshanam and Prithviraj Sukumaran's Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil which is helmed by Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey director Vipin Das.

Vineeth Sreenivasan's upcoming friendship drama Varshangalkku Shesham also has Basil in a prominent role. The film that has Pranav Mohanlal and Kalyani Priyadarshan in lead roles has a cameo appearance by Nivin Pauly.
