After Lakshmi, Prabhu Deva and Aishwarya Rajesh reunite for director Kalyan’s new film

According to the latest reports, Prabhu Deva and Aishwarya Rajesh have once again teamed up after ‘Lakshmi’. The untitled project has begun shooting at Puducherry. Director Kalyaan will helm the project. Prabhu Deva and Aishwarya Rajesh will be shooting at the coastal areas of Pondicherry.

Lakshmi is a Tamil dance-musical directed by A.L.Vijay and starred Divya Bhande in the central role with Prabhu Deva and Aishwarya Rajesh playing extended supporting roles. Prabhu Deva played Vijay, a dancer who spots Lakshmi’s talent and takes her on as an apprentice. Aishwarya Rajesh plays Nandhini, a single mother who hates dance for some reason but understands her daughter’s passion for it. It is later revealed that Vijay is the estranged father of Lakshmi.

Prabhu Deva is collaborating with director Kalyaan for the second time. Kalyaan gained overnight fame with his 2018 release Gulebakavali starring Prabhu Deva and Hansika Motwani in lead roles. This heist comedy gained fanfare after its release and the critics lauded Vivek Merwin’s tracks and the comedy sequences.

Prabhu Deva was last seen in the dance film Street Dancer 3D that stars Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi. Prabhu Deva was seen as Anna, who grooms the careers of Varun and Shraddha in the film. The movie failed to impress critics but became a commercial success.

Aishwarya Rajesh’s OTT film Thittam Irandu which premiered on July 30 on SonyLIV impressed critics. The movie starred her as a police officer, who’s in charge of a missing case that turns out to be a murder. She is also part of Telugu and Tamil remakes of Malayalam movies like Ayyappanum Koshiyum and The Great Indian Kitchen.
