Filmmaker Nanda Kishore has given clarification and tried to put things in perspective from his end.
Kannada director Nanda Kishore has made a due clarification about the ongoing 'payment' issue concerning actor Kiccha Sudeep and film producer MN Kumar.
For the unversed, MN Kumar held a press meet recently (July 3) in Bengaluru during which he accused and alleged that Kiccha Sudeep has taken full remuneration from him for a project, but has failed to fulfil his commitment by providing dates. The producer, who has previously bankrolled films like Ranga (S.S.L.C), Maanikya, Mukunda Murari and many others, also stated that the film with Sudeep was meant to take off after Pailwaan and Kotigobba 3 but the actor picked up Vikrant Rona instead - and though he, MN Kumar, tried to get on board that film, things failed to fall into place.

Sudeep would then ask MN Kumar to hire Nanda Kishore as the director for the meant film and the latter, too, was paid an advance amount. Writers got involved, a story was developed and a title, too, was registered (Mutthappa Satyaraju). But it all came in vain, adds the producer, because Sudeep went on to work with Tamil producer Kalaippuli S. Thanu on Kichcha 46.
Now, having found himself involved in this mess, filmmaker Nanda Kishore has given clarification and tried to put things in perspective from his end. Over a phone call with a media person, which has now gone viral on the internet, Nanda Kishore can be heard siding with Sudeep, whom he recognises as his godfather for all the help bestowed upon him.

"If Sudeep sir and MN Kumar sir plan on making a film together and I'm brought on board as a director, why would I be paid only Rs. 56,000 or Rs. 46,000 as an advance? We had troubles during the making of Mukunda Murari as well because the payments weren't properly made in that case. The fact is that the three of us have never formally met to discuss any film nor was the advance paid to me for a particular project. It's true that he (MN Kumar) has given me money but that is because of the financial constraints I was facing, not for any specific film. There's no clarity or information about this film at this moment. And Sudeep sir is like a godfather to me and if I'm able to eat food today, it's because of him. How can I say anything against him? I don't know anything about the title registration either, I have been away from Bengaluru for 6-7 months," said Nanda Kishore.
