While fans were disappointed about the lack of Thalapathy Vijay's cameo in Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, Atlee seems to have bigger plans.

Director Atlee is now basking in the global success of his latest movie Jawan, starring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. The movie struck a chord with the movie-going audiences worldwide as it showed SRK in a never-seen-before avatar. He took on the 'mass hero' mantel championed by the likes of Thalapathy Vijay.
And it made everyone wonder whether Atlee, a big fan of Vijay, had conceived Jawan with the Thalapathy in mind. The director, however, refused the theory. Jawan was purely made for (Shah Rukh) Khan sir. I didn't have a second thought about who was going to do that," Atlee said in a recent interview.
Atlee also revealed that Vijay was also very much involved in the project from the very beginning. He noted he discussed every aspect of Jawan with Leo star from its conception to its completion. "He (Vijay) is like a brother to me. We are very serious about what we do in our lives. He shares with me about what he's doing and I tell him about my movies. He gave me advice and remained a backbone for me," Atlee told PinkVilla.
Given Atlee's proximity to Vijay, many expected the latter would play a cameo in Jawan. So much so that it significantly fueled the ticket sales giving SRK his career-best opening in Tamil Nadu . It was a big disappointment when the expected cameo didn't happen. However, Atlee seems to have bigger plans for the two superstars, who gave the director the biggest hits of his career.

"I didn't ask Vijay sir to do a for Jawan because I will write something for both of them. They have given me the best career arc. Someday I will crack a script that will have both of them in the movie," he promised.
Jawan has raked in more than Rs 735 crore from its worldwide ticket sales since its release on September 7. The movie's likely to become SRK's second consecutive movie to collect Rs 1000 crore in ticket sales this year after Pathaan.
