After its OTT stint, Payal Rajput's Mangalavaaram impresses on this platform, details inside

Mangalavaaram was one of those films that had a rare storyline that has not been attempted in Telugu cinema to date. Helmed by Ajay Bhupathi of RX 100 fame, the village drama had Payal Rajput as the female lead along with Priyadarshi and Krishna Chaitanya in lead roles.

Mangalavaaram impresses with numbers

Well, after creating a sensation of sorts on OTT, the film was recently aired on TV. As per the update from the makers, Mangalavaaram has garnered a TRP of 8.3 which is quite good keeping the film's genre and lead stars in mind. Payal Rajput's performance has been received quite well by the audience on all the platforms of its release.

Mangalavaarm showcases the character of Payal Rajput as a sex addict who is mercilessly killed by the villagers. How her boyfriend comes back to take revenge on others through the backdrop of a ghost is showcased in a very interesting manner by director Ajay Bhpathi.

Mangalavaaram OTT release date

Mangalavaaram was released on November 19, 2024, and did decent business at the box office. A month later, Disney + Hotstar bagged the digital rights to the film and started streaming it on December 26, 2024. In no time, Mangalavaaram clocked 100 million viewing minutes in just a few days of its release. Now, the film has done well in its TV outing as well.

Ajaneesh Loknath of Kantara fame composed the music and his background score was lauded big time by the critics and audience alike. Mangalavaaram also had Nanditha Swetha, Ajay Ghosh, and Ajmal in key roles. Swathi Gunupati and Suresh Varma produced this film under their A Creative Works and Mudhra Media Works banner.
