The makers claim that the ticket prices for Major is the lowest for any Telugu film post the three waves of the pandemic
The horror of not being able to convince a film buff to hit theatres across Telugu states is haunting the Telugu film fraternity big time. Collections for Telugu films have dropped heavily ever since every second film producer start hiking ticket prices for their films in the last two months. The jolt has been so huge that the reduced ticket prices have become a promotional tool to draw crowds to theatres - this is now a tend for films like Shekar, this week's release F3 with Adivi Sesh's Major being the latest addition to the list.
Yes, Major team has now come up with a poster claiming that the tickets for the film will be available at affordable prices across single screens and multiplexes in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The ticket price for Major across single screens in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will be around Rs 150 (Rs 147 for Andhra Pradesh). The rate for multiplexes in Telangana and AP stand at Rs 195 and Rs 177 respectively. The makers say these are the lowest ticket prices for any Telugu film in both the states post the pandemic.
Word of mouth is extremely crucial for a content-driven film like Major and this precautionary move should be an additional motivation for a viewer to hit theatres. So confident are the makers about the film that they're hosting previews across the country leading to the release on June 3. The responses for the team has been fantastic in both the shows held at Pune and Ahmedabad with the film also receiving a standing ovation after the screening.
The pre-release event of Major will be held at Vizag on May 29 and will be preceeded by a screening of the film to a select audience. This is a first-of-a-kind occurence in Telugu cinema and filmmakers may borrowa leaf out of it, provided Major does well at the box office next week. Saiee Manjrekar and Sobhita Dhulipala play the female leads in the film that also stars Prakash Raj, Revathi and Murli Sharma. Sricharan Pakala scored the music and Vamsi Patchipulusu had cranked the camera.
