Karan Johar has left the audience surprised with a special announcement. On Kartik Aaryan's birthday, the filmmaker-producer announced a new film with Kartik. This news comes after their Dostana 2 fallout. Although Kartik is no longer a part of Dostana 2, the actor has teamed up with Karan again. Few minutes ago, KJo shared details about his new film with the actor on social media.

Karan Johar announces new film with Kartik Aaryan

Karan Johar started Kartik's birthday morning by sharing special news on social media. Karan will be bankrolling the film under Dharma Productions along with Ektaa Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms Ltd. On the other hand, the untitled film will be directed by Sandeep Modi. The movie is scheduled for a theatrical release on August 15, 2025.

The caption to Karan's Instagram post read, "Kickstarting today with some special news on a special day!! Extremely thrilled to announce dharmamovies & balajimotionpictures coming together for a film helmed by the exceptionally talented sandeipm. I find myself elated to also announce the supremely talented kartikaaryan as our lead for this story that will unfold in cinemas on 15th August, 2025!!!! Kartik, happy birthday to you…may our collaboration only grow from strength to strength from hereon and never cease to create magic on the big screen ektarkapoor, being your friend is easily the best thing and now working with you will be no different!!! (sic)."

According to Pinkvilla, Kartik's new project with Karan is a big-budget film. In fact, it is a war drama, which is based on true events. For this film, the actor will reportedly undergo a transformation for his character.
