Malayalam star Tovino Thomas has shared a new trailer for his upcoming movie Adrishya Jalakangal, along with its theatrical release date. The film, which is directed by Dr Bijukumar Damodaran, popularly known as Dr Biju, will have its world premiere at the 27th Tallinn Black Nights International Film Festival before arriving in theatres.

The latest trailer also confirms that Netflix is the official streaming partner for Adrishya Jalakangal, which is touted to be an anti-war movie. Adrishya Jalakangal is due in cinemas on November 24. And it might make its streaming debut after an exclusive four-week run in theatres.

"Dive into an enigmatic world where surreal drama entwines with the secrets of wartime, the story of a common man that navigates the uncharted territories of existence. Behold the trailer for 'Adrishya Jalakangal'," Tovino wrote while sharing the trailer on his social media page.

In his role in Adrishya Jalakangal, Tovino Thomas undergoes a deglamorized transformation. Wearing make-up to look a few shades darker and sporting buck teeth, he departs from his superhero persona in Minnal Murali. In the film, Tovino plays an ordinary man with an extraordinary ability to see and talk with dead people.

Adrishya Jalakangal seems to venture into the territory of The Sixth Sense. However, unlike the kid in M. Night Shyamalan's classic horror movie, the protagonist in Adrishya Jalakangal is not born with this special power to interact with the ghosts of the dead. It seems he developed this ability post an accident.

And for some reason the protagonist finds himself drawn into a war. "What is this war for?" asks a concerned old man. And Tovino shrugs his shoulders suggesting his ignorance. "Who knows." That simple scene and the way Tovino performs it highlights the senselessness of the nature of war.

It is safe to assume that a few ghosts seek the hero's help to resolve their problems and help them go to light. This situation leads the hero to get tangled in the war.

In addition to playing the lead role, Tovino has also bankrolled the movie in collaboration with Mythri Movie Makers. It also stars Nimisha Sajayan and Indrans in key roles.
