Filmmaker Mudassar Aziz's Khel Khel Mein, featuring Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, and others, was released on August 15 this year. The movie clashed with Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2 and John Abraham's Vedaa at the box office. While Stree 2 emerged as a blockbuster, Khel Khel Mein underperformed at the box office. Now, in an interview with Hindustan Times, Aditya Seal has opened up about the BO debacle of his movie.

Reflecting on Khel Khel Mein's box office failure, Aditya Seal said one has to learn how to detach. "The only good thing that I took away from that film was that it was loved," he stated. Seal added that the critics and film reviewers who watched Khel Khel Mein 'loved' the film. Aditya recalled how people called the film a 'laughter riot'.

"Everybody who had seen the film came up to me and said what a fabulous film it was, calling it a laughter riot. Doing the numbers or not doing the numbers, is in nobody's hands. Going out there with the right intent of making a good film and people appreciating, is a job well done," he said.

With Khel Khel Mein now releasing on Netflix Aditya hoped that the film would get the eyeballs that they wanted. "More than doing the numbers for me, it is about just making sure that a film like this, which has been received so well by people, should not go unnoticed," added Seal.
