Aditya Roy Kapur, Mrunal Thakur starrer Gumraah takes over another release date after Bawaal gets postponed.
It was preciously reported that the April 7 release date for the Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor movie Bawaal has been postponed due to VFX and technical concerns. Now, it appears that an other movie has seized the same release date. Gumraah will have the same release date as Mrunal Thakur and Aditya Roy Kapur's debut collaboration, Gumraah.
In the upcoming criminal thriller Gumraah, Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur are slated to engage in a brutal fight. As the lead ensemble collaborate for the first time, the actor's dual roles in the movie will be another fascinating thing to witness. Aditya, who has never performed a double role, will portray two different characters in the movie, while Mrunal will portray a police officer.
Earlier, Aditya Roy Kapur had spoken about the film saying, “I am inspired and excited to be part of telling such an interesting story. The original film was incredibly riveting and entertaining, and it left a lasting impression on me. As an actor, getting a chance to do a double role is double the preparation and double the challenge, and I’m certainly up for it! I look forward to collaborating with Bhushanji, Murad Bhai, and Vardhan to bring this exciting thriller to the screen soon.”
For those who are unaware, Gumraah is a remake of the Tamil film Thadam, in which Arun Vijay and Vidya Pradeep played characters that are very similar. The Hindi remake will be directed by newcomer Vardhan Ketkar, whereas the original was helmed by Magizh Thirumeni. Gumraah, which is being produced by Murad Khetani's Cine1 Studios and Bhushan Kumar's T-Series, will now hit theatres on April 7, 2023.
