Om Raut's film is set to be the widest release film of this year (in India) with over 6000 screens to its name
Om Raut's Adipurush is due for a massive release on June 16, with over 6000 screens allotted to the film in India alone. According to the latest reports, this would be the widest release for a film in India this year, going past Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan which had about 5,500 screens to its name during its theatrical reign.
The original Hindi version of Adipurush is said to have commanded the major chunk of the screen allotment (4000) and citing the excitement among fans to experience the film on the big screen, the makers have opened the advance bookings as many as 5 days prior to the release.
Adipurush advance bookings opened in Karnataka on June 11 with KRG Studios handling state-wide distribution. With Karnataka, and more importantly, Bengaluru, being a conducive box market for films of all languages, KRG Studios has taken up the task to distribute the film in all its five versions. Karthik Gowda (founder of KRG) informs OTTplay that Adipurush will have 300-350 screens (for all five languages) allotted across the state.

Will Karnataka, too, witness the Hindi and Telugu versions being prioritized over the other languages? Or could the Kannada version get a better screen share than what the trend so far for big releases has dictated? Karthik Gowda adds that it would be a little premature to comment on the screen count (for the Kannada version) and the final numbers would be available only a day or two prior to the release.
Karnataka, thanks to its vibrancy as a region, is known to support films of all languages with different pockets of the state pledging support to a different film industry or language. With this in mind, one could expect KRG Studios to accordingly distribute Adipurush so as to ensure that each version of the film receives a favourable release. More updates to follow.
