Adipurush, Om Raut's most recent film, has been the centre of heated debate ever since the teaser was made public. From the actors' appearances to the dialogue and VFX, the movie has drawn criticism from all sides. However, since then, the movie's box office collection have been steadily declining.

To draw more people to the theatre, the producers reduced the cost of tickets to Rs 112, but the collection doesn't appear to be affected. Even though Adipurush has made over 450 crore rupees internationally, the movie only makes 2 crore rupees in India in a day. Despite increasing the domestic gross of the movie to Rs 279.78 cr, the sum is not particularly significant given that the movie's stated budget was Rs 500 cr.

Adipurush's representation of important figures from the Ramayana recently drew criticism from the Allahabad High Court, which asked why "Hindus are tolerant but why they are tested every time" during a hearing on the petition to ban the movie. Manoj Muntashir, who wrote the dialogue for the movie, was also sent a notice by the Lucknow bench.

Adipurush is based on Valmiki's Ramayana. People all around the country have criticised the Om Raut written and directed 3D movie for its bad dialogues, subpar VFX, and dull narrative.

Saif Ali Khan plays Lankesh, Kriti Sanon plays Janaki, while Prabhas plays Raghava in the movie. Devdatta Nage was portrayed as Lord Hanuman, while Sunny Singh played Lakshman.
