In a few hours from now, one of the most keenly awaited film, director Om Raut’s vision of the Ramayana, Adipurush, will release in theatres across the world. In Karnataka, KRG Studios is distributing the film, which had Prabhas, Sunny Singh, Saif Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon in the lead. Adipurush marks the 90th film that the studio is distributing and they are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that this momentous occasion creates history.

Advance bookings for Adipurush opened on June 11 for the Karnataka region with mainly Telugu 3D shows, which began filling up in no time. This was followed by the Hindi version, and initially, there was no word on the Kannada dubbed one, which saw netizens put the distribution house through the wringer. But Karthik Gowda of KRG Studios assured them that there would be ample number of Kannada shows, and as of June 15 he has allotted close to 85 shows, which he is looking at hiking to up to 100. Trade trackers say that the pre-release sales of Adipurush tickets have been phenomenal in Karnataka, with as many as 1.15 lakh tickets sold, which, in turn, accounts for just under Rs 3 crore. Much of this comes from the Telugu version of the film, with bookings for the Kannada one yet to pick up.

The final screen count (not shows) as of June 15 stands as follows as per Karthik Gowda of KRG Studios, Kannada – 146, Telugu – 192, Hindi – 98, Tamil -18, Malayalam – 3. The film is getting 133 early morning shows in the Bengaluru region, with the earliest beginning at 5 am.

Adipurush, which is releasing in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam, has apparently locked its digital partner, with Amazon Prime Video picking up the rights.
