Adele to be honored with Sherry Lansing Award as the philanthropist in entertainment industry

The Hollywood Reporter will be honoring a list of celebrities who are also trailblazers and philanthropists

Sherry Lansing Leadership Awards will be given by Sherry Lansing Foundation, which is a nonprofitable organisation dedicated to cancer research, health, public education, and encore career opportunities, was formed in 2005. It will be presented by The Hollywood Reporter's annual Women In Entertainment Breakfast Gala.

To whom the awards are presented?

The awards are honored to the trailblazers and philanthropists from the entertainment industry every year. According to THR, the ceremony will be attended by 750 VIPs. Among them, 100 powerful people will be honoured with the most influential female executives in the entertainment industry.

Adele to be honored

This year, THR revealed that singer Adele will be respected with this award. Lansing shared, “Adele is a singular talent who has captivated the world with her incredible music. Beyond that, she paved the way for female artists to embrace their authentic selves and define their own voices and careers at a critical moment for women in music, empowering countless other female artists to do the same. I could not be more thrilled that Adele is receiving the award that bears my name.”

Who is Sherry Lansing?

Sherry Lansing Leadership Awards was established in honour of Sherry Lansing, who is the first woman to come up with a film studio in Hollywood. Previously Charlize Theron, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Oprah Winfrey, Barbra Streisand and Viola Davis have already earned this accolade.

The Sherry Lansing Leadership Awards 2023 will be held on December 7 in Los Angeles.
