The film had got released on May 5 all over
Ever since the time ‘The Kerala Story’s trailer got released, the film has been making news for many reasons. Firstly, the claims made by the film’ds makers stating that as many as 32,000 women from Kerala were recruited to the terrorist group. After facing severe backlash from almost all over, the makers then, modified the figures from 32,000 to 3 women. Amidst all the ongoing controversies, the film got released in the theatres on May 5, with encouraging response from the cinegoers. There have been a few political party workers who had even arranged free screening of the film for women. Besides that, the film has also been made tax-free in a few states as well.

In an interview with Aaj Tak, Prashantanu Mohapatra (the cinematographer of the film ‘The Kerala Story’) spoke about the shooting process of the film. He said that, while they had symbolically shot the rape scenes with the help of tent lights as the scene was really disturbing. He also spoke about their shooting in Ladakh valley. He said that they had shot in the Ladakh valley to show the border between Syria and Afghanistan and that they were shooting for 10 to 12 hours every day for 15 days!

Prashantanu Mohapatra continued stating that they had shot a few hours before it started snowing. Citing the scene where Shalini was running from the camp, he said that he too was running with the camera. Besides Adah Sharma, the film ‘The Kerala Story’ also stars Yogita Bihani, Sonia Bani, Siddhi Idnani in important roles. While the film has been directed by Sudipto Sen, it has been produced by Vipul Shah's Sunshine Pictures.
As for Adah Sharma, ‘The Kerala Story’ has definitely worked wonders. It’s being rumored that, after the runaway success of ‘The Kerala Story’, two popular banners have shown their keen interest on signing Adah Sharma as the female lead in their films.
