Gujarati film actor Netri Trivedi has opened up about her upcoming movie Dhaundhaar. The film will be the first theatrical release since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country in 2020.

Talking about the film which also stars Malhar Thakar and Hiten Kumar in the lead roles, Netri assures that Dhaundhaar is 'worth the wait'. She also told ETimes, "Malhar and Hiten have a very different fanbase, and yet they are stars."

The film is the first Gujarati film to release in theatres in 18 months. Netri finds herself lucky to have attended the trailer launch of Dhaundhaar.

Spilling some details about her character in the movie, Netri further said that she is neither playing the girl-next-door nor a bubbly person. In fact, her character is the opposite of the two. She said she plays the role of a model who's matured and different.

Dhaundhaar is a psychological thriller. It has an element of suspense which Netri hopes people like.

The Gujarati film industry has set a benchmark in psychological thrillers. Pratik Gandhi's Wrong Side Raju is one such example. Thus, Dhaundhaar's theatrical release after 18 long months has set the audience expectations high. Releasing it after one-and-a-half-year is also a huge step for the filmmakers.

Dhaundhaar is expected to release on September 17. However, it is not yet confirmed if the film will stream on an OTT platform after its theatrical release.
