The film, directed by Sanghamesha S Sajjanara, is set for a February 11 theatrical release.
By his own admission, veteran character artiste Achyuth Kumar is an accidental film actor. A theatre professional, he’s been a performing artiste for about 27 years and is now, finally, turning hero with the upcoming Kannada film, Four Walls & Two Nighties. A Ninasam theatre group alumnus, Achyuth has been vocal about the fact that getting into cinema, or television, for that matter, was never his intention. But he ended up working on TV serials and the move to cinema happened by chance, while working on a show by Girish Kasaravalli, called Gruhabhanga.
Since turning to the big screen with Mouni, the actor says that he has been fortunate to work with a wide variety of filmmakers, some of them repeatedly too. This week, Achyuth gears up for the release of Four Walls & Two Nighties , his first as leading man, directed by Sanghamesha S Sajjanara. The clincher for Achyuth was that the film sees him in two different shades – first as a young man in love, who gets married to the girl of his dreams despite stiff opposition, only to lose her some time later, and the second, as a father of three daughters and a son. How he reacts to the challenges of single parenthood forms the crux of the story.
The trailer of Four Walls & Two Nighties, which was released by Daali Dhananjaya recently was also quite interesting, as it explored Achyuth’s character, Shankaranna’s close bond with his three grown-up daughters, while his relationship with the son is not going great. In fact, the son appears to be hell-bent on killing his father. But why?
Produced by T Vishwanath Naik, Four Walls & Two Nighties is the first distribution venture for Rama Rama Re filmmaker D Satya Prakash’s Satya Cine Distributions. The cast also includes Sujay Shastry, Dattanna, among others. The film hits theatres on February 11, along with the much-awaited Darling Krishna movie, Love Mocktail 2.
