According to the famous saying, the four "ideal" attributes that any good Tamil girl must possess are: Achcham (Fear), Madam (Innocence), Naanam (Coyness), and Payirppu (Chastity). A 19-year-old from a strict family is the protagonist of the film Achcham Madam Naanam Payirppu. She's stuck between being a curious adolescent and a wise woman, trying to achieve a balance between cultural standards and personal needs.
In a statement, Raja Ramamurthy, the writer and director, said that his enthusiasm is at an all-time high. He's ecstatic that his directorial debut, Achcham Madam Naanam Payirppu will premiere on Amazon Prime Video.
The filmmaker said that it's a very relatable story told from the perspective of a little girl, which has never been done before in Tamil cinema. Raja worked with a mostly female cast and crew, and their contributions effectively brought the female perspective to life. It was an incredible pleasure to direct Akshara, a young and talented actor, and Usha Uthup, a seasoned veteran, in his debut film, and he is honoured to have collaborated with them. The director is optimistic that their labour of love will be appreciated by audiences across the country.
While Akshara said that she knew she wanted to be a part of this film the moment Raja told her the story, Achcham Madam Naanam Payirppu is a lighthearted slice-of-life watch. It's a coming-of-age story about a young girl trying to strike a balance between her ambitions and her family's expectations. Akshara added that she believes that her role in the film will resonate with every young adult. The actor is overjoyed by the love and acclaim the film has earned at several international film festivals, and she is confident that Prime Video fans across the country will enjoy it.
Whereas Usha Uthup remarked that Achcham Madam Naanam Payirppu is extremely meaningful to her because it marks her return to Tamil film after a decade. In the film, the singer plays Akshara's grandmother, who is also a seasoned Carnatic musician, so she got to do some singing as well. Uthup is very pleased with how the film has turned out. It's not only fascinating to see, but it also sends a powerful message to the audience: be honest with yourself and your feelings.
