The victim has been identified as S Suresh and another stuntman has been injured
A freak accident on the set of director Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai has turned fatal leading to the death of an ace stuntman. The victim has been identified as S Suresh (54). We hear that the stuntman fell down after a rope snapped while performing a stunt sequence. The shoot was happening at Unamancheri village near Vandalur and the stunt performers were attached to a rope but the rope snapped when Suresh jumped for his stunt scene. Though Suresh was rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to the injuries. Another stuntman has been left injured. Suresh has been a stunt choreographer for over two decades now and was the assistant stunt director for the Vetri Maaran film.
Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai stars Soori in the lead and Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi in an extended special appearance as Vaathiyar and will be seen as Soori's mentor. The film is being shot in two parts and the portions for the first part have been wrapped up and the second part is going on. Viduthalai has an ensemble cast including Prakash Raj, Gautham Menon, Kishore, Bhavani Sre, Rajiv Menon, Chetan to name a few. The film is said to be a crime thriller and major portions were shot in the interior forests of Sathyamangalam.
While Velraj is handling the cinematography, Ramar is handling the editing. Peter Hein has choreographed the stunt sequences for the film. The film marks the maiden collaboration between director Vetri Maaran and Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja. The film will have Ilaiyaraaja's first song churned out from his new studio after his fallout with the Prasad Studios. Viduthalai is adapted from a novel titled Thunaivan penned by writer B Jeyamohan. The film will be distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies.
Viduthalai is said to be one of the most anticipated films of Vetri Maaran and after the completion of the film, he will begin work on Suriya's Vaadi Vaasal, which revolves around Jallikattu.
