Abir Chatterjee has double dhamaka in store for fans, starts shooting for a new chapter of Byomkesh and Sona da

The mahurat of Byomkesh’s new venture and Karnasubarner Guptodhon triggers excitement among the fans of Abir Chatterjee

Abir Chatterjee will be seen playing the great sleuth Byomkesh Bakshi and Sona da in Bishupal Bodh and Karnasubarner Guptodhon respectively. This edge-of-the-seat thriller of the Byomkesh chapter is based on Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s incomplete story Bishupal Bodh and will bring back the genius on-screen after almost four years. The plot has been ingeniously completed by the director himself. The film also features Sohini Sarkar as Satyabati and Suhotra Mukhopadhyay as his trusted companion Ajit.

Meanwhile, Karnasubarner Guptodhon is the third film of the Guptodhon franchise. It brings the thrilling adventures of the trio Sona da, Jhinuk and Abir back on screen. Ishaa is going to essay the role of Jhinuk and Abir will be portrayed by Arjun Chakraborty.

In these films, Abir Chatterjee is going to play two different detectives and the parameters and process of the detection will vary. The films will bring out the nuances of two separate inquisitive minds.

Abir Chatterjee started his career with Bengali television and made his debut in Bengali Cinema in 2009 as one of the leads with Cross Connection. He also appeared as Feluda, another famous sleuth created by Satyajit Ray and brought a different kind of enigma and confidence. In 2014, Abir Chatterjee went on to top the list of Calcutta Times Most Desirable Men. His performance was hugely applauded in Shahjahan Regency and in 2019, he was felicitated with Tele Cine Awards for Bijoya.

Byomkesh will be directed by Arindam Sil and is slated to release on August 11. Dhrubo Banerjee is directing Karnasubarner Guptodhon and it will release on September 30. So, it’s a back-to-back fiesta for all the Abir Chatterjee fans.

Both Byomkesh and Karnasubarner are backed by SVF. They are expected to release on Hoichoi after their theatrical run. The OTT release dates for these films are yet to be announced.
