The creators of Stree are preparing to release its second edition, four years after it became the sleeper hit that it was. In the horror movie starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, actor Abhishek Banerjee portrayed the part of Janna.

In terms of the sequel, he told Mid Day that the script is almost complete and that filming will begin next year. Intriguingly, in the director's most recent film, Bhediya Banerjee played the same part he had in the Amar Kaushik movie.

Banerjee's performance was well-received, but he says he wanted Aparshakti Khurrana's part. The actor thought playing Bittu would be right up his alley, but Amar felt Janna would be a better fit for him.

The Paatal Lok actor claims that the team's need to get their hands on a compelling script caused the delay in starting the second edition. They were aware that a fantastic script was required. This is the reason part two's start took so long. However, everything is going well right now.

In response to the question of whether Varun Dhawan's Bhediya will now be a part of the Stree Horror universe, he replied that it depends on how the writers plot it. A script is not shared by Amar until the fourth or fifth draft.

Earlier, while talking about how Stree was a game changer for him, Banerjee told OTTplay that he did Stree under the impression that it had a low budget. Rajkummar is a person who has inspired him, and he really wanted to work with Amar because Shraddha was in the movie that he was directing for the first time.

The actor had no idea and believed it to be a small-scale movie. Banerjee was baffled when the movie became such a smash blockbuster and made Rs. 130 crore. He didn't even give interviews for Stree because he didn't think the character would be such a huge hit. The actor realised something major had occurred when people approached him and began telling him how Jaana had become a kid favourite.
