In shocking news, Sanjay Gadhvi, the director of the first two Dhoom films, breathed his last earlier this day. Remembering the filmmakers, Abhishek A. Bachchan and Esha Deol took to their social media pages to pay their condolences. The actors penned an emotional note for Gadhvi, who gave them their first blockbusters on the big screen.

Abhishek posted a photo from the sets of Dhoom also featuring Uday Chopra. He wrote, "I took this photo of Sanjay whilst we were filming the climax of Dhoom 2 in South Africa. We made two films together: Dhoom and Dhoom 2. Sanju, when I spoke to you last week and we were reminiscing about our shoots and memories, I would never have imagined, even in my craziest dreams, that I would have to write a post like this. (sic)"
The actor further stated, "I’m shocked beyond belief. You had faith in me, even when I didn’t. You gave me my first ever hit! I can never forget that or be able to express what it meant to me. I will cherish your friendship always. Rest in peace, my brother. (sic)"

Meanwhile, Esha wrote, "Shocked! I can't believe you are gone . You were one of the most fun, vibrant, and absolutely cool directors I have ever worked with. the times we all spent together filming DHOOM as one big family. You were so full of energy you were. Thank you for whatever you have done for me. I will always have love in my heart for you, my brother, and my friend. I can’t believe I’m saying this. Rest in peace. DHOOM DHOOM. (sic)"

Sanjay Gadhvi's daughter confirms his passing
Meanwhile, Gadhvi's elder daughter Sanjina confirmed his death to PTI. She told the media agency that he passed away at 9.30 this morning at his residence. It seems likely to be a heart attack, but they can't be sure. He wasn't sick, and he felt well.
Sanjina is the eldest of his two daughters, and the filmmaker is also survived by his wife Gina.
