Abhishek Bachchan will be seen playing the character of a corrupt politicion in Dasvi, that also stars Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur. The film will be available to stream on Netflix and Jio Cinema.

Abhishek Bachchan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film titled Dasvi. The makers have already dropped its trailer which has been gathering much love and appreciation from the netizens. The actor, who will be seen playing the character of a corrupt politician Ganga Ram Chaudhary, who gets jailed after being convicted. He ends up taking his 10th standard exams while being inside the jail.
Based on the Right to Education, the film is a social comedy which has been extensively shot in the Agra Central Jail with real life convicts who will also be seen as part of the film. Now, a report on News18.com suggests that the makers of the film will be hosting a special screening for the inmates of the Agra jail.
The report quoted Abhishek Bachchan as saying, "We’re going to Agra to actually have a special screening for the inmates because we promised them that have worked on the film that we will come back and show you the film." He also mentioned that he's very excited and is looking forward to showing the film to them.
Further shedding light on the initiative, the director Tusha Jalota informed the portal that Abhishek had promised to host a special screening of the film for all the inmates in the jail, while they were shooting in Agra. He added that the actor is truly a man of his words and that the team is excited to show their labour of love to the inmates.
Speaking about his experience while shooting in the jail, Abhishek told the publication that seeing a Central Jail from the inside in itself was partly surreal as it's not what we think it is. He went on to say that all of us are accustomed to seeing that the criminals in jail are some kind of demonic people whereas they were very normal.
He added that a lot of the inmates also doubled up as background artists and junior artists. "It was almost weird, because all these were convicted criminals and we were with them the whole day, had lunch and dinner with them," the portal quoted him as saying. He also said that the best part about his whole experience was that they were quite respectful, disciplined and sweet people.
Also starring Nimrat Kaur as Abhishek Bachchan's wife and Yami Gautam in the role of a cop, Dasvi is all set to begin streaming on Netflix and Jio Cinema from April 7.
