With Imran Khan's comeback to films, will Delhi Belly 2 be made? Abhinay Deo has this to say

Delhi Belly continues to be one of the most memorable Bollywood films. The film, helmed by director Abhinay Deo, starred Imran Khan, Vir Das, and Kunaal Roy Kapur in the lead roles. Delhi Belly had its theatrical release in 2011. Since the film became successful, talks about its sequel have been around. However, there has been no concrete development on the same. In a recent interview, Abhinay was asked if Delhi Belly 2 would be made considering Imran's comeback to films.

Speaking with Mid-Day, Abhinay Deo was asked if he has considered making the sequel to his 2011 film Delhi Belly. To this, the filmmaker said he has thought of a sequel every week for the past 10 years.

"As much as we love the film, we also know how meticulously it was made. Under the garb of comedy and [expletives], we had a sharp movie. To put all those factors together and make a movie that is relevant today will take time. In some time, we hope to put pen to paper and see where it takes us," Deo told the tabloid.

Apart from Imran, Vir, and Kunaal, the star cast of Abhinay's film included Poorna Jagannathan, Shenaz Treasurywala, and Vijay Raaz. Delhi Belly was produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao and Ronnie Screwvala. Following Delhi Belly's massive success, the film also got its Tamil remake, Settai.

Meanwhile, Abhinay Deo's latest directorial project, Savi, has hit the big screen. The film features Divya Khossla, Anil Kapoor, Harshvardhan Rane, and Raageshwari Loomba. Savi opened to positive feedback upon its theatrical release. Although it clashed with Mr and Mrs Mahi at the box office, the film is doing well at the box office.
