Aashram 3
One of the most popular shows, Aashram returned with season 3 recently and it has also been receiving tremendous response. Directed by Prakash Jha, the show is led by Bobby Deol who plays the role of Baba Nirala, a godman who cheats people.
The latest season Ek Badnaam Aashram premiered on MX Player on June 3. It also stars Esha Deol, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Anupriya Goenka, Tridha Choudhury, Tushar Pandey, and others. The show has often faced the wrath of some right-wing groups who have accused the makers of defaming Hinduism. The set of the show was also attacked during the shoot in Bhopal by Bajrang Dal members who believe the show presents the Hindu religion in a bad light. And now, Bobby Deol has reacted to the controversies.
In a conversation with SpotBoyE, Deol said, "Mai itna hi keh sakta hun ki agar yeh show itna chala hai toh people have watched it. I feel there will always be 2 or 3 percent of people who might not like the show. Everyone has their opinions; you cannot stop them from voicing their opinions. But, if you see the success of the show, it just proves that there was nothing really wrong in the show."
Prakash Jha too had earlier opened up about the controversies. In an interview with Zoom, the filmmaker quoted a saying about dharma. He said, "It is not people who protect dharma, it is dharma that protects people. Aadmi dharm ko nahi bachaa sakta, dharm aadmi ko bachata hai. Toh jo log dharm ko bachaane nikale hai, woh galat fehmi mein hain. (People can’t save dharma, dharma saves man. So those who say are saving dharma are mistaken.)”
The show is highly praised for its performances and in Season 3, Esha Gupta too stole the show. The Soldier actor also talked about his intimate scenes with Gupta with SpotBoyE and confessed that he was nervous shooting them. He said it was Gupta who helped him do the scenes. "I remember the first time I did an intimate scene, I was very nervous. It was the first time that I was doing something like this," he said, adding that Gupta was professional in her approach and was so involved in getting the scene right that it got easier for him. "And that’s why people enjoyed it. The way Prakash Ji shot the scenes, the team did work so everything was put in the right sync," he said.
Meanwhile, the show has been renewed for the fourth season. Ek Badnaam Aashram 3 is currently available to stream on MX Player.
