Aashram 3 actor Anupria Goenka says Bobby Deol-led show made her a household name even in small towns

The hit MX Player show Aashram, led by Bobby Deol, is now back with Season 3 and fans are raving about it. They are delighted to see their favourite characters on screen again. The new season also saw the actor Anupria Goenka reprise her role as Dr Natasha. Anupria, who is known for her roles in movies like Padmaavat, Tiger Zinda Hai and War, is happy to have been able to associate with this show as it gave her the opportunity to collaborate with the director, Prakash Jha, whom she admires.

In a recent interview with The Times of India, the actor said it was a blessing to have been able to collaborate with Prakash Jha. Speaking about her experience, she said, "He really trusts his people and works non-stop with the same energy that he begins the day with. He is like a one-man show, a single point of contact for everything on set as he is involved in all the departments." She got major life lessons from him. She said he helped her build her character and portray it differently. "Keeping things light even through a hectic shoot is what I learnt from him,” she said.

Anupria further said while she gained popularity through her other projects too, it was Aashram that made her a household name even in small towns. Speaking about the reason for the tremendous success of the show, she said it's the subject of the show that has made it a huge success. The show, which is set against the backdrop of a spiritual guru, is something that is close to Indians and it also helped her to draw the attention of her family to the subject too.

The actor admitted that her family too are followers of some spiritual gurus and their decision making are guided by them. She said they've also seen the adverse effects of it. "There is a very fine line between following a guru for your growth or following him to whitewash all your deeds. I have seen how a spiritual leader can really shape you," she said, adding that it is when people give a lot of power to a spiritual leader that the chances of them getting corrupt increases.

The MX Player series boasts a great talented cast but Anupria's favourite actors are Chandan Roy Sanyal and Darshan Kumaar. She said Chandan is a fabulous actor and he always tries to do something different each time. "That apart I also like Darshan Kumaar who I shot a lot with. He is extremely disciplined as an actor,” she said.
