Aashiqui 3: It was reported that Triptii Dimri was dropped as the makers felt she had become “too exposed” to be cast in the romantic film.

Anurag Basu's Aashiqui 3 has been making headlines for quite some days now. The romantic saga, which will be led by Kartik Aaryan, was supposed to star Triptii Dimri as the female lead. However, things got crazy after the news of her exiting the project was revealed. Interestingly, the update came in after Triptii had done look tests for the third installment of Aashiqui and even performed for the mahurat shot. After the news of her exit went viral, it was reported that the actress was dropped from the film as the makers felt she had become “too exposed” to be cast in the romantic film, which they believed “demanded purity in demeanor from the female lead”. But it looks like the claims were not true. Anurag Basu has finally broken his silence and clarified the matter.

Anurag Basu reacts to Triptii Dimri's exit from Aashiqui 3

Anurag Basu, who is set to kickstart another romantic film with Kartik, has now reacted to the entire Aashiqui 3 controversy. The 'purity in demeanor' claim was not taken too well by netizens on social media. The makers were trolled left, right, and center. Now, while speaking to Mid-Day, Basu set the record straight, and said that the claims are not 'true'. He told the portal, "That’s not true. Triptii knows it too."

After Triptii's exit, Aashiqui 3 is postponed indefinitely. The makers are now busy looking for the female lead for Basu and Kartik's other romantic saga, which will reportedly go on floors by early February.

Triptii Dimri has moved on...

A source further told the portal that the Animal actress has moved on to Vishal Bhardwaj’s Arjun Ustara, also starring Shahid Kapoor. The source added, "The buzz around Triptii has been at an all time high since Animal’s success. That’s also what made her the sought after choice for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. After the romantic comedy Bad News [2024] and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video [2024], she was kicked about headlining an intense love story by Anurag. With her debut film, Laila Majnu [2018], becoming a success upon its re-release last year, there has been a demand to see her in a romance."

Apart from this, Triptii has Dhadak 2 with Siddhant Chaturvedi in the pipeline.
