Aashiq Abu unveils Rifle Club cast details; absence of Soubin Shahir's name leads to speculation

It has been unveiled that Dileesh Pothan is playing the lead role, along with Vani Viswanath and Vincy Sony Aloshious in Rifle Club.

The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film Rifle Club released its cast details in a motion poster. It has been unveiled that Dileesh Pothan is playing the lead role, along with Vani Viswanath and Vincy Sony Aloshious. The latest poster has also confirmed that the film will be an Onam release this year.

Hanumankind, The Baby Jean, Vishnu Agasthya, Surabhi Lakshmi, Ramzan Muhammed, Vijayaraghavan and Unnimaya Prasad are among the supporting cast.

Renowned Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap will play the antagonist in the film, the makers recently confirmed. The film will be the director's first Malayalam release.

Rifle Club is anticipated to offer a fresh story and an original cinematic experience under Abu's direction. According to sources, it is also anticipated to be a complete action entertainer.

Absence of Soubin Shahir’s name sparks speculation

It was previously reported that Soubin Shahir and Dileesh Pothan would play the main roles in this movie. The director as well as the cast shared a motion poster with the actors’ details in it yesterday (March 16). But since Soubin's name was missing, rumours circulated that the actor had left the project.

Who are behind Rifle Club?

Suhas-Sharfu, Syam Pushkaran and Dileesh Karunakaran, have written the screenplay for Rifle Club. The director himself is handling the camera work for the film. The soundtracks and original score have been composed by Rex Vijayan. V Saajan is the editor. The film will be distributed in theatres across the state by OPM Cinemas. Manjummel Boys-fame Ajayan Chalissery is the production designer of this movie.

Aashiq Abu’s 14th directorial

Dileesh Pothan and Aashiq are working together following the 2019 movie Virus, which was based on the 2018 Nipah virus outbreak in Kerala. Neelavelicham, starring Tovino Thomas and Rima Kallingal in the lead roles, was Aashiq's last film to be released in theatres. The movie was a remake of the 1964 film Bhargavi Nilayam, which was based on Vaikom Muhammad Basheer's short story Neelavelicham.
