Mohanlal’s mass entertainer Aaraattu has been the talk of the town for a while now. The B Unnikrishnan directorial has been the much-anticipated venture of the season, alongside Mohanlal’s Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham. After many tussles, the makers have finally confirmed the release date. Find out the date, and more details to Aaraattu:

What is Aaraattu about?

Centring around the larger-than-life hero Neyyattinkara Gopan, the movie is touted to be a massive entertainer with elements of action, comedy and drama. Mohanlal plays the central character, who is a real-estate tycoon. The storyline progresses as he travels from Thiruvananthapuram to Palakkad to survey the land he has bought. Eventually, his journey turns to trouble as he gets involved in the issues that take place in the area.

The trailer which was dropped last week features Mohanlal in his fierce beast mode, which promises a whole thrilling pack. The larger-than-life element in his character arc is visible in the promising trailer, where Neyyattinkara Gopan seems to inspire everyone around him. The trailer also gives a glimpse of A R Rahman on stage, who is said to be having a cameo appearance in Aaraattu.

Who is in the cast and crew?

Besides Mohanlal, Aaraattu features Kannada actress Shraddha Srinath, who plays an IAS officer. KGF fame Ramachandra Raju, SIddique, Nedumudi Venu, Indrans, Vijayaraghavan, Swasika and Sai Kumar will also be a part of the cast, where musical legend A R Rahman will have a special cameo appearance as well.

Helmed by B Unnikrishnan, Aarattu is scripted by Udaykrishna.

After being delayed many times due to COVID-19 induced lockdowns, Aaraattu is finally ready to hit theatres on February 18, 2022.
