On Vishu 2021, Mohanlal unveiled the teaser of his forthcoming film Aaraattu. Now to wish his fans on Onam, the superstar posted a special poster from the movie. Like his earlier posts, even in the brand new poster, Mohanlal features an intense look by showing his intriguing eyes and sporting a fully-bearded look. The actor is seen standing against the backdrop of the dusky sky.

While sharing the poster, Mohanlal just penned a few hashtags which read as "#Onashamsakal #happyonam #aaraattu #onam."

Along with Mohanlal, Aaraattu also features Shraddha Srinath, Ramachandra Raju, Nedumudi Venu, Siddique, Prabhakar, Vijayaraghavan, Saikumar, Indrans, Malavika Menon, Swasika, and Rachana Narayanankutty in supporting roles.

The film is directed by B. Unnikrishnan while Sajeesh Manjery and RD Illuminations are the producers. Whereas Udaykrishna has penned the story.

With Aaraattu Shraddha will be returning to Malayalam cinema after five years. She was last seen in Kohinoor which was released in 2015.

In the film, the actor plays the role of an IAS officer and it marked her first shoot amid the coronavirus pandemic. Talking about the same, Shraddha had told The Times of India, "There was no reason to say no, particularly with Mohanlal sir in it. And Unni sir gave a great narration. Also, I have constantly been trying to make a foray into Malayalam again after Kohinoor."

Meanwhile, Unnikrishnan had spoken about shooting for the film following the strict COVID-19 protocols. He had told the daily that they appointed a stunt choreographer for Aaraattu as it was the need of the hour. The filmmaker went on to share that the fight master and his assistants were quarantined for seven days and then took the tests. They also maintained social distancing during the shoot.

Aaraattu is likely to hit the big screens in October this year.
