Aamir Khan still hopes to make Mahabharata, calls it 'scary' dream project!

Aamir Khan has always expressed his desire to make the Mahabharata for the big screen, and it has been his "dream project" for years now. In a recent interview with the BBC, the superstar shared his aspirations for the future of his film career, revealing an ambitious vision for the next decade. The renowned actor-filmmaker, known for his selective approach to acting, expressed his intention to produce more films while also expanding his acting portfolio.

Aamir Khan's future plans

Aamir explained, “I really want to produce a lot more films and give opportunities to young talent, and I guess I'll continue acting. I usually do one film in two to three years as an actor. But in the next decade or so, I'm hoping to do one film a year. And produce a lot more films with stories that I love.”

While he remains dedicated to acting, Aamir’s focus on filmmaking appears to be growing. He mentioned that producing films based on stories that resonate with him is a major goal, but one project stands out above the rest.

“My dream project is the Mahabharata” Aamir confessed. “But it’s a very scary project. It’s so huge, and I’m scared of getting it wrong. It’s a big responsibility, and as Indians, it’s something so close to our heart; it’s in our blood.”

The epic Indian tale of Mahabharata has captivated audiences for centuries, and Aamir’s desire to bring it to the big screen is an indication of his deep respect for the story and its cultural significance. However, he acknowledged the daunting scale of the project.

“I want to get it right; I want to make every Indian proud,” Aamir continued. “I also want to show the world what India has. So I don’t know whether it will happen, but it is something I really want to work towards. Let’s see.”
