The movie was a big hit and benefitted Aamir and Juhi's film careers. Recently, Aamir attended the trailer launch of his son Junaid Khan's film Loveyapa. At the event, Aamir spoke about his performance in the 1988 movie. Khan felt his work was not very fine-tuned at some places in the film.
Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak's success positioned Aamir Khan as an emerging star back in the day. Despite the success, Aamir feels his performance wasn't good in some parts of the Mansoor Khan film.
"I felt like my work was not very fine-tuned in some places. Some scenes I did well and also the song moments like Papa Kehte Hai were done well. But there are still a few moments that irritate me as an actor. I didn’t enjoy them," he said.
While he didn't like his performance, Aamir felt his co-star Juhi Chawla did a good job in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. "She did a good job and was polished as an actor with a command over her dialogue delivery and expression. It looked very clean on-screen whereas I used to speak very fast," revealed Aamir.
Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak marked the directorial debut of Mansoor Khan. The 1988 romantic musical featured Aamir Khan as Raj and Juhi Chawla as Rashmi. The film revolved around their characters' love story of falling in love, eloping, and its aftermath. QSQT opened to a positive response from critics and audiences upon its theatrical release.
The film's star cast also included Dalip Tahil, Goga Kapoor, Alok Nath, Ravindra Kapoor, Reema Lagoo, and several others. The movie was produced by Nasir Hussain.
