Both moviegoers and critics are praising Blessy's Aadujeevitham greatly for Prithviraj Sukumaran's outstanding performance and his transition into Najeeb, the main character of the story. In the meantime, the movie has also sparked a number of speculations and concerns about what happened to the other characters, particularly Hakeem, who was struggling to survive in the desert alongside Najeeb.

Who is Hakeem in Aadujeevitham?

In an interview with an online media platform, Benyamin, the author of the best-selling book Aadujeevitham, disclosed that Hakeem is a survivor akin to Najeeb, having fled from that desert together and spent some time in jail. "I have learned that Hakeem spent a considerable amount of time in the Gulf following his incarceration," he stated.

The novelist claimed that during the writing process, he became overly emotional and felt that the character had to die because it would serve as a poignant remembrance of the hundreds of people who perished alone in these deserts while fighting for their lives.

Where is Hakeem now?

When asked where Hakeem was, Benyamin said that Najeeb was unaware because they were in such trauma following the difficult situation during that time. "There were no cell phones in those days. They were definitely not in a position to exchange addresses or other contact information," he stated.

The author claims that the most surprising aspect is that no one has ever approached him and claimed to be the real Hakeem, even though the novel has become a best-seller and a hot topic of conversation. He continued, "I have always wondered if I would get a call from Kerala or some other Gulf nation, revealing to me that the person is the real Hakeem.

Debutante Gokul plays Hakeem in Blessy’s Aadujeevitham

Actor Gokul discussed his initial curiosity about Hakeem's whereabouts in an interview with OTTplay. He said that on his first meeting with Benyamin, he had inquired further about Hakeem and whether or not he was still alive. “In my opinion, Hakeem has experienced a great deal, perhaps even more than Najeeb, given the former's age. He might not have fully processed the trauma that would have occurred," he remarked.

Gokul further said that even with the enormous success of both the novel and the movie, the real Hakeem has not come to the forefront. "I would like to think that he is watching everything from somewhere out there, but he does not want to relive the painful memories. I would rather honour his decision," he remarked. You will have to see the movie Aadujeevitham to find out if the filmmakers decided to give Hakeem the same tragic ending as in the book.
